They picked the trails at O'Melveny Park, in the bright flat part of the afternoon when the hillside has already gone gold and the brush along the path is still holding its green. No venue, no run of show: a dirt track, a split-rail fence, and the two of them walking it.

Most of the session went like that. Standing close on the trail, hands together, looking at each other rather than at the camera. The ring turns up in nearly every frame without anyone having to point at it, catching the light between their fingers, then resting on a shoulder halfway through an embrace.

The last frame is just their hands, held out with the fence gone soft behind them. It's the detail shot that ends up on the save-the-date more often than not.
