The story
North Chatsworth Park has oaks old enough that the branches run most of the way across the clearing, and late in the afternoon the sun comes through them almost sideways and puts the whole floor in gold. They walked it in a line, all four hand in hand, which took a couple of passes before everybody was facing the same way.
The group frames came next, under the same tree, with the youngest up on his father's arm where he could be relied on to stay put. That is the one the grandparents ask for, and with a two year old in the frame it is also the hardest one on the list.
The rest belongs to the two of them. His sister with both arms right around him and a grin, him looking straight down the lens and reserving judgement. Then both of them out front holding hands while their parents hung back under the branches, soft and out of focus and paying the camera no attention at all.
