The details went first. A sapphire ring and its matching necklace were set down into the middle of an orange garden rose, still in the bouquet. The bow tie, watch, cufflinks and band were laid out on a red pocket square over a bed of wine corks.

Everyone got ready together in a suite full of white drapery, pampas and lanterns: six in white robes, one in deep red. By the time they were in the velvet gowns with their bouquets, the palette for the rest of the day was already decided, red and orange against cream.

The aisle was a white runner scattered with peach petals, gold lanterns and marigolds set along the chairs, running up a short flight of steps to a draped arch banked with orange blooms. They kissed at the end of it with the garden going dark behind them.

Portraits carried on into the evening under the string lights, first walking the path beneath a flowering trellis, then at the end of a lit archway with the lace train laid out down the walkway behind them. The wedding party came out onto the lawn for one very loud frame, and the reception filled the room with gold chiavari chairs, draped ceilings, and a dance floor that did not stay empty.
