The story
The cake was a two-tier semi-naked buttercream, trimmed along the base with blue hydrangeas and topped with a carved wooden silhouette of the two of them. They cut it together against a deep teal wall under a gilt-framed landscape, and got the first slice onto the plate intact, which is not a given.
Afterwards everyone moved outside into the dark. The guests lit sparklers and held them up on both sides, and the two of them stopped in the middle of it for one more kiss.
